41.1 km
Le Serre du Mouton: a panoramic hike in Réallon
This mountain bike route from Risoul is a demanding 41.1 km adventure with 1,720 m of elevation gain, offering spectacular views and technical descents. The route starts gently before reaching the Gorges du Guil (5.7 km), an impressive site where the river winds between sheer cliffs.
You then reach Guillestre (36.3 km), with a superb view over the valley and the Écrins. The final stretch leads to the Torrent du Chagne (41.1 km), where a fun singletrack brings you back to the start.
The Aiguilles de Chabrières hike is a difficult 11 km route, with 803 m of elevation gain, that takes you into the heart of a stunning rocky landscape. It starts from the ski lift ticket office in the resort of Réallon, first following a forest track.
You will cross the alpine pasture, then reach a ridge where the view opens out. The ascent continues towards the Aiguilles, with a tricky passage between two rocks, the famous Brèche de Chabrières. This section calls for agility, as you need to use your hands to get through the narrow gap. Once past this stage, you reach the Oucane de Chabrières, a limestone platform with a breathtaking panorama and stunning views over the Briançonnais.
The descent is via a scree slope and a less distinct path, leading you down to the resort along the Réallon valley and finishing at the resort car park. This route, which takes around 5 hrs 30 mins, is for experienced hikers only.
Le Peuple des Oiseaux trail
The “Le Peuple des Oiseaux” (Bird People) trail is an immersive family walk devoted to discovering mountain birds. Accessible in summer and winter alike, this safe route, which takes from 2 hours to a full day, is dotted with information panels and rest areas.
The route offers stunning views of the Aiguilles de Chabrières and the Réallon valley, and has been built from local, recyclable materials with no ecological impact. This playful, poetic trail invites you to daydream and reconnect with nature, while raising awareness of respect for the mountain environment.
