5 km from Villard-de-Lans, the “Les Rambins” centre in Corrençon-en-Vercors guarantees a high-quality welcome, friendly catering and fully comfortable accommodation. An excellent “base camp” for school and youth groups wishing to discover Alpine life and head straight out to explore the alpine and Nordic ski areas.

In the heart of the Vercors Regional Nature Park, this massif offers wonderful opportunities for play, sport and discovery all year round, surrounded by unspoilt nature. Our aim: to introduce children to the mountain environment through a range of activities, sports in particular, and to help them progress step by step – getting to grips with the equipment, assessing difficulties, overcoming apprehension and learning new techniques, in an adventurous setting far from the everyday.

Starting from the village, groomed cross-country ski trails and waymarked snowshoe routes run through forests and clearings to the edge of the Hauts-Plateaux reserve. Green and blue trails suited to beginners: the benchmark for learning cross-country skiing on a snow class, with free passes for schools in the Isère.
5 km away, Villard-de-Lans is the perfect complement to a ski stay: indoor ice rink, heated wave pool, cinema and shops. A “relaxation” day that is simple to organise, with coach parking, to add variety and rest the legs.
Open for much of the winter, the caves offer a refuge at a constant temperature when it is cold outside. Soda-straw stalactites, an underground lake, sound and light: a guided tour ideal for exploring geology and water. Winter opening dates to be confirmed.
In Vassieux-en-Vercors, the plateau under the snow gives the story of the maquis its full force. Displays accessible to young people, a highlight for Cycle 3 (upper primary) and secondary school classes. Check winter opening days.
The hanging houses can be seen all year round, and the Musée de l’Eau water museum, entirely under cover, offers interactive exhibitions and school workshops. An “indoor” outing that is easy to slot into a snow class programme.
A museum-cum-show with more than 300 animated automata in fairytale settings, plus an outdoor park with games and animals. An effortless “sense of wonder” outing, particularly suited to nursery and primary classes and younger campers.
A visit to the Villard-de-Lans dairy cooperative or a farm on the plateau, with a tasting of the PDO cheese: a short outing under cover that extends the estate’s “Alimentation Santé Territoire” (Food, Health and Local Areas) approach.
