5 km from Villard-de-Lans, the “Les Rambins” centre in Corrençon-en-Vercors guarantees a high-quality welcome, friendly catering and fully comfortable accommodation. An excellent “base camp” for school and youth groups wishing to discover Alpine life and head straight out to explore the alpine and Nordic ski areas.

In the heart of the Vercors Regional Nature Park, this massif offers wonderful opportunities for play, sport and discovery all year round, surrounded by unspoilt nature. Our aim: to introduce children to the mountain environment through a range of activities, sports in particular, and to help them progress step by step – getting to grips with the equipment, assessing difficulties, overcoming apprehension and learning new techniques, in an adventurous setting far from the everyday.

Les Rambins’ big neighbour: wave pool, ice rink, summer rail toboggan at the Colline des Bains, bowling, cinema, shops and coach parking. The ideal complement to a day in nature, ten minutes from the centre. A safe bet for slotting a “relaxation” half day into a school or holiday camp programme.
Corrençon is the northern gateway to the largest land-based nature reserve in France. With no major climbs, the trails leaving the village lead within a few kilometres into a landscape of meadows, limestone pavement and forests that are home to chamois, marmots and black grouse. A perfect immersion in nature for a supervised hike, suited to children’s pace.
Between Villard-de-Lans and Pont-en-Royans, the gorges road winds between dizzying cliffs, tunnels cut into the rock and a turquoise river. From the coach or at a purpose-built viewpoint, children can gauge the power of the water that carved out the Vercors. A journey that becomes a geography lesson in its own right.
A flagship visit of the Vercors: thousands of soda-straw stalactites, an underground lake and a memorable sound and light show. A guided, safe, purpose-built route at a constant temperature: an ideal gateway to geology, water and the formation of the massif.
Its hanging houses clinging to the cliff above the Bourne make it one of the most photographed villages in the Isère. A stroll through the lanes, then a stop at the Musée de l’Eau water museum: interactive exhibitions, school workshops and a bar serving waters from around the world.
In Vassieux-en-Vercors, the Memorial tells the story of the maquis with displays designed for young visitors. Not far away, the Luire cave, a makeshift hospital for Resistance fighters in 1944, extends the visit at a deeply moving natural site. A highlight for Cycle 3 (upper primary) and secondary school classes.
Also in Vassieux, this museum built on a genuine 4,500-year-old flint-knapping workshop offers hands-on workshops: knapping, fire-lighting, spear-thrower shooting. A practical immersion in the Cycle 3 (upper primary) history curriculum, to combine with the Memorial on the same day.
A museum-cum-show with more than 300 animated automata in fairytale settings, plus an outdoor park with games and animals. An effortless “sense of wonder” outing, particularly suited to nursery and primary classes and younger campers.
No need to take the coach for your first discovery: the chalet sits in the heart of the Coulmes forest, a designated Sensitive Natural Area (Espace Naturel Sensible) of the département. Easy waymarked trails, wildlife and plant spotting, landscape reading on the ridges… In winter, the cross-country ski trails and snowshoe routes start right at the pass. The ideal playground for a first supervised nature outing.
