At an altitude of 1,850 metres, the club hotel Le 1850 puts you right where the action is. Step out of the hotel… and you’re already on the slopes! Set off to explore La Forêt Blanche and its ski area linking Risoul and Vars.
After a day in the fresh air, come back to the warmth of the club hotel: fireside, games room, hot chocolate at the panoramic bar, generous food and lively evenings.

Gain some height to discover one of the most spectacular faces of Risoul: that of the great peaks and horizons stretching as far as the eye can see. In the Homme de Pierre sector, the forest gradually gives way to the world of the high mountains and to vast panoramas over the Alps. A place where you stop skiing for a few minutes… simply to look.
A few kilometres from Risoul, the fortified village of Mont-Dauphin (Centre des monuments nationaux) offers a striking journey through history. Built by Vauban from 1693 and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the stronghold towers over the Guil and Durance valleys from its spectacular promontory. Under the snow, ramparts, mountains and military architecture form an absolutely exceptional backdrop.
A few kilometres from Risoul lies the Fontaine Pétrifiante, a natural curiosity shaped by heavily mineralised water. Over time, limestone deposits have created astonishing concretions that seem to freeze the landscape. An unusual little detour to discover the incredible work of water and time in the Alps.
Leave the ski lifts behind and enter the silence of the forest. On foot or on snowshoes, the winter routes reveal another side of Risoul, with forest tracks, snow-covered clearings and open views of the Guillestrois and Queyras peaks. A few steps are all it takes to feel alone in the world.
At the foot of the mountains, Guillestre invites you to leave the slopes for a few hours and soak up the atmosphere of an authentic Alpine town. Stroll among the colourful façades of the old centre, the history-steeped lanes and the church of Notre-Dame-d’Aquilon before discovering the produce of the Hautes-Alpes. A heart-warming outing combining mountain heritage and local flavours.
Imagine naturally hot water in the middle of a snow-covered mountain landscape! At the foot of Risoul, the Plan de Phazy hot springs have been flowing since ancient times and feed natural pools at around 26°C. An astonishing geological curiosity and a timeless interlude facing the mountains.
