Risoul is a renowned destination for mountain biking, with routes for every discipline and every level. At Le 1850, every rider will find trails to suit their tastes.
6 downhill (DH) trails: from flowing lines to more technical tracks, downhill fans are spoilt for choice with two green, two blue and two red trails
8 enduro routes: from blue for beginners to red and black lines for seasoned enduro riders, this area is perfect for those who like to mix descents with technical climbs.
3 cross-country (XC) routes: for cross-country mountain biking fans, one green, one blue and one red route, combining scenery and elevation for a complete ride.
5 e-MTB (electric mountain bike) routes: the region also lends itself to exploring by e-MTB, making the climbs easier so you can enjoy the spectacular panoramic views.

41.1 km
Guillestre loop towards the Torrent du Chagne
This mountain bike route from Risoul is a demanding 41.1 km adventure with 1,720 m of elevation gain, offering spectacular views and technical descents. The route starts gently before reaching the Gorges du Guil (5.7 km), an impressive site where the river winds between sheer cliffs. You then reach Guillestre (36.3 km), with a superb view over the valley and the Écrins. The final stretch leads to the Torrent du Chagne (41.1 km), where a fun singletrack brings you back to the start.
La Durance – Main du Titan loop from Gaudissard Haut
Starting from Gaudissard Haut, this 28.3 km mountain bike loop with 600 m of elevation gain is an intermediate route, including steep sections where you will sometimes have to push your bike.
After around 9.8 km, you pass through Risoul – La Traverse before reaching the Durance at 15.3 km, an ideal spot for a break, although bathing is not allowed there. At 16.8 km, the route takes you towards Mont-Dauphin, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Then, after 20.5 km, you discover the Main du Titan, an impressive rock formation.
The return leg follows varied trails to round off the adventure at Risoul – La Traverse.
Pont de la Durance – Durance Promenade loop from Montdauphin-Guillestre
Starting from Montdauphin-Guillestre, this 48 km mountain bike loop with 710 m of elevation gain offers a varied route accessible to intermediate riders.
After setting off from the railway station, you ride through Alpine landscapes before reaching the Pont de la Durance at 23.7 km, a central point for routes around Embrun. You then follow the Durance Promenade (27.1 km), a perfect stretch for gravel and mountain biking. The return leg goes via Le Pont Neuf (27.7 km) before completing the loop at Montdauphin-Guillestre.
