Since April 2026, Vacances Léo Lagrange has been welcoming more than 500 children and young people from Marseille – many of whom rarely have access to such experiences – to Le Village des Gréements to discover the sea and the Mediterranean environment, as part of a project run with the CMA CGM Foundation and Léo Lagrange Animation.
A new season of stays has been under way on the Frioul Islands since April, driven by three local players: the CMA CGM Foundation, the project’s sponsor; Vacances Léo Lagrange, organiser and operator of the stays; and Léo Lagrange Animation, which reaches out to participants. The scheme gives more than 500 young people a unique experience, on a day visit or a longer stay.
On the programme: kayaking, sailing and island exploration, as well as educational activities such as “Les pieds dans l’eau” (“feet in the water”), to discover Mediterranean flora and fauna and raise awareness of the need to protect this environment.
“You see the difference very quickly. At first, some children hold back. Then, within a few hours, they gain confidence and make the place their own. That’s when you really see the impact of these stays.” Marie, director of Le Village des Gréements
Launched with a first mini-course on 21, 22 and 23 April, the programme will run until the autumn half-term holidays, with a total of 11 day visits and 4 holiday camps.
Since 2024, more than 900 young people have already enjoyed this experience on the Frioul Islands.
