Montbrun-les-Bains – Col d'Aulan loop from Reilhanette
This loop from Reilhanette (30.1 km, 770 m of elevation gain) is ideal for gravel fans. After setting off from the military car park, you pass through Montbrun-les-Bains (3.5 km), a picturesque village with superb views. At 7.4 km, you follow the valley of the Toulourenc, a mountain stream that has carved out impressive gorges. You continue to the Gorges d’Aulan (8.3 km) before reaching the Col d’Aulan (13 km), an 8.6 km climb offering exceptional views over the valley. The return is by the same road, finishing in Montbrun-les-Bains.
Col de l'Homme Mort from Montbrun-les-Bains – loop
This route from Montbrun-les-Bains (27.8 km, 660 m of elevation gain) is a challenge for experienced cyclists. After setting off from Le Village des Lavandes, you climb towards the Col de l’Homme Mort at an altitude of 1,211 m, with a moderate gradient of 4.38% over 4.8 km. This historic pass, crossed by the Tour de France in 1956, links the Toulourenc valley to the Plateau d’Albion. You then take on the Col de Macuègne, with its splendid, little-visited view, before discovering the picturesque hilltop village of Barret-de-Lioure, with a stunning view of Mont Ventoux.
This 73.3 km cycling classic with 1,710 m of elevation gain is a challenge reserved for experienced cyclists or those in search of their first Ventoux. It starts in Montbrun-les-Bains, a picturesque medieval village renowned for its thermal baths and stone architecture. At 23.4 km, you begin the legendary climb towards Mont Ventoux, with an average gradient of 7.7%. After reaching Chalet Reynard (31.3 km), the final kilometres take you to the summit (1,909 m), with spectacular views. The return leg goes via Aurel, a charming village on the Sault plateau.
