First Time on a Discovery Class Trip?

We have compiled below some tips to help you find the necessary funding for your project and quickly prepare your application.
When building your project, funding is often the most important aspect.
Here are several avenues to explore:

  • The County Council, your local community, your town hall often have departure assistance programs,
  • The parent-teacher associations, school funds are also important supports. They can organize events to raise funds to contribute to the trip,
  • You can benefit from assistance via ANCV (holiday vouchers). An application form can be downloaded from the website: www.jpa.asso.fr

What aid is available?

  • ANCV develops social action programs. It is within this policy axis that the JPA/ANCV agreement falls. Discovery classes or educational school trips are stays outside the classroom that promote a different way of acquiring knowledge, but also another path to opening up to the world and to others. ANCV and JPA share this same approach to educational vacation and leisure time supported by real educational projects.
  • Preschools and elementary schools, medico-social establishments for young people, colleges and agricultural education establishments, MFR in Isère can benefit from financial aid as part of the “Discovering ENS” (Sensitive Natural Areas) scheme.
Our facilities are eligible for this aid as they are in the immediate vicinity of these areas:

– The Coulmes ENS,
– The Rimets ENS,
– The Écouges ENS,
– The Vercors High Plateaus Nature Reserve.

Visit the Isère General Council website: www.isere.fr/la-decouverte-des-ens-espaces-naturels-sensibles for all the details.

You will find the downloadable application on this page.

Also good to know:

  • We are also partners of the PICC projects in the Isère department which are available to all colleges.
  • The AURA region finances transportation for your trip departures. For any general questions about the scheme, please contact the Mountain and Parks service at 04 26 73 51 39 classedeneige@auvergnerhonealpes.fr
  • Enfance et Montagne also helps with departures. You can download the explanatory note from our website.

Practical aspects tips:

For your snow trips, we remind schools in Isère that cross-country ski passes are free, they are funded by the County Council.
The deadlines for submitting your application to the Inspection:

  • For schools in Isère, you must submit your application 5 weeks before the start of the stay, excluding school holidays (as you are not leaving the department),
  • For schools outside the department, you must submit your application 8 weeks before the start of the stay, excluding school holidays.

Please note, don’t hesitate to submit an application, even if a document is missing (e.g., travel plan) you will have time to complete it later.
For your transportation:

  • Don’t hesitate to contact us, we can forward you a quote from the company “Perraud voyage”, which is often very competitive. In any case, this quote can be useful for comparing offers from your local transporters.
  • Some of you may prefer to take the train. This is of course possible and generally advantageous for long distances. We or you can get in touch with SNCF’s group service (08.10.87.94.79 – voyageengroupe@sncf.fr).
  • Please note, for public primary schools, each transport must be declared to the inspection with annexes 3 and 3 bis as well as the travel plan and the certificate of coverage.

The accreditations of our facilities and instructors:

We can send you all the approvals of the participants for your stay. You can also find them on the DSDEN website of Isère https://bv.ac-grenoble.fr/centre-interv-ext/accueil.php

Our Label and our Projects

As part of the Parc Brand, we commit to:

  • Respect and value nature by implementing environmental management measures in our establishment,
  • Help you discover the riches of the territory, its landscapes, traditions, leisure activities, and culinary heritage,
  • Welcome you in a personalized and warm manner to ensure that your stay is a moment of conviviality.

The Environmental Education and Sustainable Development Project at the Chalet Des Coulmes

During the stay, everyone will be made aware of the center’s “environmental education for sustainable development” project through daily actions and targeted activities:

  • Waste sorting and composting,
  • Food waste prevention,
  • Energy consumption management,
  • Respect for water resources.

Like the hummingbird in the ecological fable, the Vacances Léo Lagrange association at Les Coulmes wishes to contribute and work towards more sustainable management of the chalet’s surroundings, favorable to biodiversity, its understanding and respect:

  • Late mowing and flower meadows,
  • Installation of insect hotels,
  • Setting up bird nesting boxes and bat shelters,
  • Creation of rocky areas…

We were able to take a big step in terms of “energy a few years ago. The municipality of Rencurel has managed to equip itself with a modern and efficient collective wood heating system. At Col de Romeyère, different structures can thus benefit from a source of renewable” energy, consistent with this forested territory.

Food, Health, and Territories:

We are proud to be at the origin, along with other holiday centers and the support of the Vercors Regional Natural Park, of the Food Health and Territories initiative.

This approach carries significant stakes for the territory: healthy food accessible to all, maintaining agriculture supported by the consumption of local products, preserved environments, biodiversity, and living conditions.

We therefore pay particular attention to the origin and quality of products served at the table. Vercors trout, local cheeses, local and organic bread… We also offer stays centered on the theme of food.
