Discovery Hike in the MéLéZet Valley towards Vars.

For beginner or occasional hikers wishing to cover a short distance at a leisurely pace.

Ideal in the morning, as it faces the rising sun, this hike follows the ancestral path connecting the alpine pastures of Vars and Risoul. The ascent is easy and gradual, punctuated by viewpoints over the Queyras and the Chagne valley. The forest trail is shared with Greenland dog sleds.

On the way back, we will freely trace our path through the powder snow to introduce you to the joys of snowshoeing. A great introduction to the pleasures of winter hiking!

Downhill Hike from the BelvéDèRe De l’Homme De Pierre

For regular hikers seeking altitude, panoramic views, and beautiful tracks in the powder snow.

We will ascend to the viewpoint using the new pedestrian chairlift of l’Homme de Pierre to begin this hike by contemplating Lake Serre-Ponçon, one of the most beautiful panoramas offered by the heights of Risoul.

We will then leave the ski area towards the Pic du Clocher, at the eastern limit of the Écrins National Park, whose majestic peaks will be our main backdrop during the descent. Between alpine pastures, moors, forests, streams, and valleys, our walk will be a true pleasure for the eyes and legs, especially as the snow is often of excellent quality here.

We will begin our off-piste ascent through an airy forest with a gentle slope, before crossing into the Combals alpine pasture.

For the picnic break, we will make our way to the Martinat ridge, where we will stop at a three-sided cabin open to the south, to enjoy the warmth of the midday sun. We will then continue along the ridge towards the Pic du Clocher, offering a plunging view of the Durance valley.

On the return, our descent will cross vast untouched spaces, traversed by nascent streams.
