Guillestre La Durance Montdauphin-Guillestre

Guillestre Loop towards the Chargne Torrent

This mountain bike circuit starting from Risoul is a challenging 41.1 km adventure with 1,720 m of elevation gain, offering spectacular panoramas and technical descents. The route begins gently before reaching the Gorges du Guil (5.7 km), an impressive site where the river winds between steep cliffs. Then, you reach Guillestre (36.3 km), offering a superb view of the valley and the Écrins. The last portion leads to the Chagne Torrent (41.1 km), where a playful single-track brings you back to the starting point.

La Durance Loop – the Titan’s Hand Starting from Gaudissard Haut

Starting from Gaudissard Haut, this 28.3 km mountain bike loop with 600 m elevation gain offers an intermediate course, including steep sections where the bike may sometimes need to be pushed.

After about 9.8 km, you cross Risoul – La Traverse, before reaching La Durance at 15.3 km, an ideal spot for a break, although swimming is prohibited. At 16.8 km, the circuit takes you to Mont-Dauphin, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Then, after 20.5 km, you discover the Titan’s Hand, an impressive rock formation.

The return follows varied trails to conclude the adventure at Risoul – La Traverse.

Durance Bridge – Durance Promenade Loop Starting from Montdauphin-Guillestre

Starting from Montdauphin-Guillestre, this 48 km mountain bike loop with 710 m of elevation gain offers a varied course accessible to intermediate riders.

After departing from the train station, you cross Alpine landscapes before reaching the Durance Bridge at 23.7 km, a central point for routes around Embrun. You then follow the Durance Promenade (27.1 km), a perfect segment for gravel and mountain biking. The return passes through Le Pont Neuf (27.7 km), before concluding the loop at Montdauphin-Guillestre.
